Last updated and effective date: December 23, 2022

Panavision and its group companies may use cookies, web beacons, pixel tags and other tracking technologies (“cookies”) on our websites and applications (“Websites” ) which are used to understand our users’ interests, to create, develop, and improve our products, services, research, communications and Websites in ways which enhance our users’ online experience, and to comply with applicable laws, for example to remember if you have consented to cookies or not (altogether referred to as “Goals”).  For information about how we use personal data of users, please see our privacy policy here.

We may use a variety of cookie types, including those listed below.  For information about the cookies used on the specific Website you are visiting, please check the report at the bottom of this page.

  • Strictly Necessary Cookies.Strictly necessary cookies are necessary for a website to work and to enable visitors to move around it and to use its features.  Without these cookies, our Websites will not perform as intended and we may not be able to provide our Website or certain services or features you request.
  • Preference Cookies.Preference cookies collect information about your choices and preferences and allow us to remember language or other local settings and customize the websites accordingly.
  • Social Plug-in Tracking Cookies.Such cookies are used to track members and non-members of social media networks for market research analytics, and product development.
  • Analytics Cookies.Analytics (or “statistics cookies”) cookies, such as Google Analytics, collect information about your use of the Websites, and enable us to improve the way they work.  For example, analytics cookies show us which are the most frequently visited pages and help us record any difficulties you have with a Website.  This allows us to see the overall patterns of usage, rather than the usage of a single person.
  • Marketing Cookies.Marketing cookies are used for marketing and advertising purposes. Please see “Interest-based advertising” below for more information.
  • Affiliate Cookies. Some of our Websites may contain links to other companies’ sites. If you follow one of these links or interact with that other site, a cookie is used to tell the other site that you came from one of our Websites. We are not responsible for, and do not accept any liability for, these third parties’ compliance with their legal obligations.

Cookies will not be used for other purposes.

Aside from Strictly Necessary Cookies, our Websites only use cookies if you consent when you first visit the Website. Even if you consent to cookies, you may disable cookies as explained below.

What are cookies?

A cookie is a small text file that a website saves on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. It enables the website to remember your actions and preferences (such as login, language, font size and other display preferences) over a period of time, so you don’t have to keep re-entering them whenever you come back to the site or browse from one page to another.

What cookies do we use?

Our Websites may use the following cookies:

Session cookies which are erased when the user closes their browser.

Persistent cookies which remain on the user’s computer/device for a predefined period of time. These can help us recognize you as an existing user, so it’s easier to return to a Website or interact with our services repeatedly.

Interest-Based Advertising

We work with third-parties such as online social media sites that use their own tracking technologies (including cookies and pixel tags) on our website and app and other websites and apps in order to provide you with tailored advertisements across the Internet. This is a common marketing practice referred to as interest-based or online behavioural advertising.

These companies may collect information about your activity on our Websites and third-party websites and apps (such as web pages you visit and your interaction with our advertising and other communications) and use this information to make predictions about your preferences and deliver ads that are more relevant to you on third party websites. This information may also be used to evaluate our online advertising campaigns.

For more information and to understand your options and how you may be able to opt-out of interest-based advertising, please see “Opting-out of Interest-Based Advertising” below.

Disabling Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Some web browsers incorporate a “Do Not Track” (DNT) or similar feature that signals to websites that a visitor does not want to have their online activity and behavior tracked. Panavision will endeavor to recognize commercially recognized opt out signals (e.g., Global Privacy Control). Recognition of this signal will only take place with respect to the device and/or browser that communicates the signal.

You may delete cookies.  Please refer to your browser’s “Help” instructions to learn more about cookies and other technologies and how to manage their use or see “Other Helpful Resources” below.  If you choose to accept cookies and then later elect to delete them, you will need to repeat this process if you use another computer or change browsers.  If you delete or do not choose to accept cookies, some of the functionality of a website may be impaired or you won’t have access to features that make your experience more efficient.  If you first consented to cookies, you may later decide to opt-out regarding the use of cookies from Google Analytics by going to https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout or downloading the Google Analytics Opt-out browser add-on.

Opting-out of Interest-Based Advertising: For more information about interest-based advertising on your desktop or mobile browser and to understand your options, including how you can opt-out of receiving interest-based ads from participating third-party advertising companies you can visit the following websites applicable to your jurisdictions:

  • In Canada, the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada (DAAC) Self-Regulatory Program for Online Interest-Based Advertising, website at http://youradchoices.ca/choices. To learn more about interest-based advertising in mobile apps and to understand your options in Canada, please download the version of AppChoices for your device at https://youradchoices.ca/appchoices/.

Important Notes About your Opt-Out:

  • If you opt-out of interest-based advertising by a third party, these tracking technologies may still collect data for other purposes including analytics and you will still see ads from us across the Internet, but the ads will not be targeted based on behavioural information about you and may therefore be less relevant to you and your interests.
  • Interest-based advertising opt-outs work by saving cookies in your browser that tell the various ad partners that you have opted-out. You must opt-out from each web browser from which you do not want interest-based advertising (and this may involve different devices, if you use more than one). If you delete or clear your browser’s cookies, you will need to opt-out again.
